I loved wearing uniforms in school! I wore them for 12 years…it was so easy in the mornings to just get up and put on the ol’ blue culottes and white top!
We did get to wear any color socks we wanted to – that’s where we got to show our personality!

I would hate to wear uniforms! Being able to wear what you want is a privalege that shouldn’t be withdrawn. I hope that this school district never gets interested in uniforms, we should get to wear what we want not what we’re told to!!!
September 14, 2007 @ 9:45 pmI agree with Holt. I had to wear uniforms in Irving in K and 1st and I secretly hated it. I like being able to pick my own clothes and what I want to wear. I don’t like just having to go with the flow and copy what everyone else is wearing.

September 25, 2007 @ 4:37 pmI don’t think it’s a good idea because sometimes they are so ugly and it’s kinda like a freedom to pick out your own clothes and I would hate to wear the same thing over and over!!!!!!!! So I would say NOOOOOO!!!!!!(By the way, if you don’t know me, I go to Carson Elementary.) BYE!! I would also agree with everyone that said no!!
September 28, 2007 @ 7:58 pmUniforms would be okay, But they’d have to be really cool (like everything else you let us do). If you made us wear plaid, I’d move back to Washington! Grey-blue, black,and red don’t work either. I would suggest eagle colors! Now silver and blue…I’d have to feel proud to wear it. But they’d have to be comfortable. I don’t want to be sweating before P.E. in summer, or freeze before even reaching the door in winter. I therefore wouldn’t care what’s on my body, but what’s in my head.

October 11, 2007 @ 5:40 pmI think uniforms are a great idea. The kids don’t see it! I think it would really cut down on dress code problems and kids that feel like they don’t fit in because they aren’t wearing the latest name brand clothes. I think it would put everyone on an even playing field so that all they need to think about is SCHOOL! When my husband taught in Irving he loved it because they had to wear uniforms; it especially eliminates problems in the jr. high and high school.

October 14, 2007 @ 12:33 pmI would love to wear uniforms!! It would make the shopping for the parents so much easier, cheaper and faster. Personally, I think getting ready for each day would take less time as well. The kids would be more focused on their work, not what everybody looks like. As for us teachers, it would eliminate the problems with having to find out if a student’s clothing is within the dress code requirements or not.
If there was a dress code it should be basic. I know a school in Amarillo has the students AND teachers wear a different color polo everyday with jeans. The teachers and parents I know there love it. The kids are doing much better with grades and discipline as well.

Justice, I see your point. It would be less complicated to know what you are wearing fits in with everyone else. Sounds good to me.

I mean, I, as a girl, would not exactly enjoy wearing a tie and a plaid skirt.But IF I was forced to wear a uniform,I would like it to be pretty and in style.I would like jeans, boots and a cute sweater for the winter, and a colorful t-shirt, flip-flops and shorts for warmer weather.But if I had choice in the matter would wear my OWN clothes.

I would ABSOLUTELY hate uniforms!!!!!!That would be bad because I love black more than any other color and a bunch like red, green, blue, yellow, and brown. They would all be dissapointed if we got darkish green and if we got yellow I would be disapointed because I don’t like yellow and it would really disappoint people who don’t like yellow. Same thing with any other color. Not all like black either. You don’t see people all walking in yellow. It would make us miserable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Mr. N we would not want you to die over such an important problem. Life is always annoying at some times, and someone is always telling you what to do. Well little missy…teachers do have to wear them. We would go right along with the students and it sounds good to me. Actually, I think everyone would be cute in uniforms…. Fifth graders could never be ugly except in bad behavior (surely not)! My grandson is wearing uniforms in high school in Ennis. They changed to that about two years ago and all is well. They didn’t grow a second nose or an extra ear on their face or anything. Wow! Mrs. H

Such as not having enough money to buy food, not having a house to live in, having problems in the family, having someone sick or not expected to live, or just not being a very happy person. Yes, I’ll take uniforms anyday over those things. If it would make anyone feel better about themselves, then I would be glad to wear a uniform!

Uniforms would be so cute on all of you and all of you would look just like you were wonderful children, listening to all the teacher had to say, and doing all your work perfectly (okay I’m dreaming, but it is a nice thought)! Everybody would look cute and I think everyone looks pretty cute now, especially those students that are just nice and work hard and never ever give the teacher any trouble! Wow!
